Shankaracharya Vasudevananda Saraswati Maharaj
of Jyotir Math
‘Maharishi Mahesh Yogi wanted to spread the message of his Master throughout the world. He has successfully propagated these teachings across the globe.’

Maharaja Adhiraj Raja Raam
First Ruler of Maharishi’s Global Country of World Peace
‘Jai Guru Dev. It is Heaven that is now applauding, for Heaven ... has just welcomed and opened its arms to His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi....
‘We bow down to the will of Heaven for a work beautifully done—a transformation of humanity never seen in any time, for any generation, in any Yuga.
‘Together we will be strong, unified, uphold his teaching, and keep being honoured for having had the chance to have a glimpse of him or hear a word from him.
‘Today is a very special day that he must have selected. We respect that. We maintain our dignity and his message in our minds and hearts, and the purity of his teaching, and the purity of our inten-tions, and the unity of our thoughts. For only together, strong and unified, we can have the sense of fulfilling his presence continuing on this planet earth....
‘It is the time for us to go back to the Self, to pure Being, where he is residing in our hearts, in our minds, in our desires, in our hopes, in our beautiful intentions to fulfil, and continue to achieve, the goal that he has already done, but that has given us the choice and the beautiful ability to say that we are fulfilling his desire and con-tinuing the work that he has done. For he has already done it, and completed it, and finished it. Yet he wanted to give us the bliss and the joy to feel that we are continuing, and we are doing.
‘All my thoughts are with Heaven's receiving him. All our wishes would be to be there with him, to see him come to Heaven. Yet the responsibility he has given us requires us to be here, together, strong; and maintain the bliss that he wanted us to experience and to live, and which is the nature of life.
And in all his Glory we say
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Guru Dev, Jai Guru Dev, Maharishiji!’

Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of Maharishi’s
Global Country of World Peace
‘The greatest achievement of Maharishi was the attainment of the state of supreme enlightenment—Unity Consciousness—as a young man at the feet of his spiritual Master, His Divinity Brahmanand Saraswati, Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math. [Dr Morris explained that this pinnacle of human experience is the seventh and highest state of human consciousness.]
‘In this state, Maharishi was living the reality, “I am the Unified Field, I am the Totality of everything,” experiencing life as the ocean of bliss, and everything in the universe in terms of unity with the reality of his own Self.’
‘In that unbounded and liberated state. his every impulse of life was for the benefit of every human being on earth, all of whom were as near and dear to him as the most intimate member of his own family. This was the status of the great saint of the Vedic Tradition.
‘Instead of living a recluse life, Maharishi was spontaneously impelled to teach what he had learnt from his Master, Shri Guru Dev, His Divinity Brahmanand Saraswati; and became a Maharishi, a great sage or seer. Someone with that title is not only the seer of the unified reality of everything, experiencing that level on the basis of which anything could be known, but for fifty-three years he was also the extremely skilled teacher of that Reality, so that other people also should have that experience.
‘When Maharishi began to teach in 1955, the common under- standing throughout India and the world was that to meditate was a very difficult thing, that it required such feats of concentration that it was only practical for recluses who had withdrawn from life, and a result was produced only after decades of diligent trying.
‘In a single stroke, Maharishi reversed all of this wrong under-standing about meditation and brought out the principle of Tran-scendental Meditation. . . . Maharishi gave immediate, instant experience to the world—that to transcend, to come to the state of transcendental silence, which is one's own Self, the state of pure bliss consciousness within—to experience that is not difficult. It is simple. It is the birthright of every human being in the world—even a ten-year-old child—to have that experience, and it is easy to attain.
‘This single achievement alone was enough to transform the whole nature of human life on earth. Maharishi, by virtue of introducing to the world again these simple mechanics of Transcendental Meditation, gave an open gate to enlightenment to anybody in the world who would like to obtain it.’ (more...)

Dr Benjamin Feldman, Minister of Finance and Planning
of Maharishi’s Global Country of World Peace
‘Jai Guru Dev. Raam Brahm Paramarath Rupa—Raam is Brahm in personified form. Maharishi-ji has left us that reality of life— Brahm in the form of Raam, personified, exemplified by Maharaja Nader Raam, the first ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, for everyone to know the reality that every individual is Cosmic. What a beautiful achievement Maharishi has given us in Maharaja Nader Raam and the Global Country of World Peace—the mani-festation of that Totality lively in one's awareness, the possibility of that very concretely in everyone's awareness.
‘So we offer back to Maharishi—in parting, we say to Maharishi:
‘We offer back to you your confidence, the confidence that you gave us to find within ourselves the source of everything. When we were trying to praise you, and find all kinds of instances and moments and references to you to thank you for what you have given us, you said to us a few days ago, you reminded us that the gift that we have received is actually unfathomable. It has no point of reference—it’s everywhere. and we can only thank the Vedic Tradition of Masters for revealing that unfathomable, unbounded reality of life of the Constitution of the Universe, of the Veda, to us. And in reminding us of that, you have freed us, and you have given us the blessings of Guru Dev.
‘Today we may feel unboundedness in terms of emptiness. but what a miracle Maharishi has created for us to be able to find fullness in complete emptiness, to be like the full moon that is not dark, but is inevitably reflecting the light of the sun. That emptiness has no beginning and no end, an emptiness that has no point of reference. Purnam Adah Purnam Idam Purnat Purnam Udachyate Purnasya Purnam Adaya Purnam Evavashishyate—This is full, and all that is also full; from fullness fullness comes forth; taking fullness from fullness, all that remains is fullness.’
Jai Guru Dev
